Description

Ferdinand was a heavy tank destroyer developed and manufactured by Porsche. His name has become synonymous with any tank destroyer in the eyes of Red Army soldiers. It was first deployed on the Eastern Front in 1943, and because of its shortcomings, the surviving machines were withdrawn from the front after the Battle of Kursk and subjected to reconstruction. The improved version of the machine was then renamed Elefant.

The drive of the tank was solved by timeless technology - two air-cooled gasoline engines with an output of 2x 220 kW powered 2 electric generators. They supplied electricity to the belt drive motors. This eliminates the complicated design of the gearbox. At the beginning of the deployment, design problems arose that led to the withdrawal of this tank from the front. The downloaded pieces were modified, and thus a modernized version of Elefant was created.

SdKfz 184 "Ferdinand" in a scale of 1: 100. The kit contains 11 pieces, length 81 mm, difficulty 4.

The models of the Zvezda series of the Snap Kit series are intended mainly for beginning builders. Individual plastic pieces need to be cut from the moldings with a knife or snapped out with pliers. The plastic pieces are designed so that they can snap together and thus hold together. We definitely recommend gluing the individual pieces together after clicking to increase the strength of the models, eg with Revell Contacta Professional glue.

The assembled model must then be painted with enamel (synthetic) or acrylic paints on plastic models.
