The steam locomotive C11, a well-known and popular long-seller in the Kato products lineup, will be renewed with the newest driving unit. The real locomotive C11 was a type equipped with water tank and manufactured in the quantity of 381 in the period from 1932 to 1947. The steam engine was used to pull passenger trains and freight trains and for switching trains in yards. Many people still remember that the locomotive pulled Series 20 “Sakura” express train on Sasebo line. The locomotive is still maintained and ready to work in many places in Japan.
By the renewal, the size of the body was reviewed and more accurately made according to 1/150 scale. The small body suits operation on small track layouts in narrow spaces. The locomotive with the water tank allows drive in reverse direction and in a small train. You may make it pull Series OHA 61 coach which will be released simultaneously.
