Description
The GG1, one of the PRR's most famous and recognizable locomotives, is also one of the most curiously designed. The GG1 is technically two 4-6-0 (G) locomotives under one shell, adding up to a 4.6k horsepower behemoth that was staggeringly powerful and fast even by today's standards. The Brunswick Green "Modified Loewy" scheme was used in the 1940's, and was the most commonly used paint scheme on the PRR's GG1's. It had 5 gold pinstripes and gold serif "Clarendon" lettering, and was a refinement of the "as delivered" paint scheme as Loewy first envisioned it.
