The Curtiss P-40B Warhawk was one of the United States’ most produced aircraft during World War II, with more than 13,000 delivered by the end of the war. It was designed to be both a fighter and ground-attack plane - maximum speed of 360 mph / 579 kph, armed with six 12.7-mm machine guns, and able to carry up to 2,000 lbs. of bombs. "Hell’s Angels" were the 3rd Squadron of the famous Flying Tigers. The tiger shark mouth was painted on all of the AVG's P-40s and led to their nickname, "The Flying Tigers". During World War II, they operated mainly in the Pacific theatre.
