Postage Stamp 1/87 Messerschmitt Bf109 Adolf Galland
Postage Stamp - 1/87 Messerschmitt Bf-109 Adolf Galland
Postage Stamp plane models (formerly known as Model Power models) has a long history of producing affordable, ready made diecast airplanes in the 5" to 8" range. The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was a single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Luftwaffe's fighter force from 1936 through to the end of World War II. Its aerodynamically sophisticated design made it an exceptionally potent adversary, and it remains the most produced fighter aircraft in history. This model represents the Bf-109 flown by German air ace Adolf Galland in 1940 during the invasion of France and the Battle of Britain, by the end of which he had destroyed 58 enemy planes. In November 1941 he was promoted to the post of commander of the Luftwaffe's Fighter Arm, and a year later he was promoted to major general – at 30, the youngest general in the German armed forces.
