Description
B-26K Counter Invader, Congolese Air Force, Brazzaville, 1965, 4x LAU - Hobbymaster HA3228

Designed as a twin-engine medium bomber, the B-26K from the Douglas Aircraft Company was the only bomber from the US to participate in three wars. The aircraft was produced starting in 1941, with a total of 2452 bombers being built by the end of production. After being retired from US service in 1948, 40 of these bombers were later modified by On Mark Engineering in the 1960s for conducting night interdictions in Laos. One of the B-26Ks was 64-17649 built as an A-26C and upgraded by On-mark to a B-26K. The aircraft wore FR-649 in the Congo. This model is an authentic replica of the B-26K Counter Invader, Serial No 64-17649, of Congolese Air Force, Brazzaville, 1965.
