Description

Pioneers of the British heavy metal scene, Iron Maiden are the most successful band in their genre. Founded in 1975, the band is a global phenomenon with performances in 60 countries to date.

For each of their three massive world tours in 2008, 2011 and 216, the band chartered specially designed aircraft. Dubbed "Ed Force One" in reference to their mascot, Eddie, each aircraft adorned the design of its album and accompanying world tour. Pilot was none other than lead singer Bruce Dickinson himself, who is also a pilot with charter airline Astraeus. The two Boeing 757s that were used on the two tours in 2008 and 2011 also come from them.

On the Somewhere Back In Time tour, "Ed Force One," which featured a mummified "Eddie" at the tail, carried the band to a total of 90 performances in 2008 and 2009. A documentary of the tour with the 757 in a central role was released in cinemas worldwide under the title "Flight 666".
