Description

Alaska Airlines was one of the early operators of the 727. Between 1966 and 1994, no fewer than 61 aircraft were in the fleet. In 1972, the airline began a major rebranding to emphasize Alaska's cultural diversity: an Eskimo, a gold digger in memory of the Gold Rush, Russian onion domes to honor Russian history in the region, and last but not least, a totem representing the culture which was supposed to symbolize the native people. This 727 with the green and gold livery variant appears as the third model in our series for the 60th anniversary of the Boeing 727. So far, models of the legendary three-jet aircraft have been released in the colors of Delta Air Lines (item no. 537278) and Pan Am (537285 ).
