The Hawker Tempest left the engineers of the Axis powers at the time of the Second World War the hair to stand on end.
With around 800 models built, the MK V of the Tempest series established itself from 1944 as the most powerful fighter or fighter-bomber of the Allied powers. As one of the fastest fighters of World War II, the propeller-driven Tempest V was able to withstand even the German Jet Fighter Me262.
She became famous as the "V1 fighter". With a top speed of up to 696 km/h, this fighter was able to track and shoot down cruise missiles before they could cause damage.
