Tamiya - 1/20 Lotus Type 79 1979 'Martini'
In 1979, the championship-winning “Black Beauty” Type 79 from the 1978 season was repainted with British Racing Green. The team consisted of the previous year’s champion Mario Andretti and former Ferrari driver Carlos Reutemann. Team Lotus ended the season winless as they could not overcome the other teams’ second-generation ground-effect cars. However, Reutemann and Andretti placed 2nd and 5th respectively at the opening race in Argentina, and the former also achieved podium finishes in Brazil and Spain.
