Postage Stamp 1163 B24D Strawberry Bitch
Postage Stamp - 1/163 B-24D Strawberry Bitch
The Strawberry Bitch bomber of World War II was so named because it was a little bit pink and a whole lotta mean. The pinkish paint job was to help the B-24D Liberator blend in over the deserts of north Africa, where the famed bomber flew more than 50 combat missions in 1943 and 1944. This 1/163-scale, die-cast metal replica from Postage Stamp Models is an exact representation of the Strawberry Bitch, complete with the pinup model nose art. Fortunately, the Strawberry Bitch survived the war. She’s on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. Whether you’ve seen her in person or not, commemorate her service with this beautiful model.
