For America, the war had begun four years before with the scream of bombs and the rending crash of naval gunnery. Now, early in the morning on September 2, 1945, the Battleship USS Missouri bobs in the gentle swells of Tokyo Bay-its guns silent as the representatives of the Allied Powers witness and accept the unconditional surrender of all Japanese forces. The war, which had cost the lives of millions, came to a quiet and peaceful close. Kit features a detailed model of the USS Missouri, outfitted appropriately for WWII.
