Postage Stamp 1/100 B25J Mitchell Panchito
Postage Stamp - 1/100 B-25J Mitchell "Panchito"
The B-25 was a two-engine medium bomber with H-tail, named after General Billy Mitchell, father of the US Air Force. It was considered a safe and reliable aircraft, and was used extensively in World War II, especially in the Pacific theatre. The B-25J included additional armaments, modified nose, and heavier fuselage panels, and was by far the most popular of the B-25 range. This model is a replica of the B-25 “Panchito”, assigned to 396th Bomb Group in the Central Pacific, and named after the feisty Mexican rooster from the 1943 animated musical "Three Caballeros". It was restored to vintage flying conditions in 1986, and is now based at the Delaware Aviation Museum.
