The Oliver Hazard Perry class is a class of guided-missile frigates that served in the US Navy. The warships were designed in the United States in the mid-1970s as general-purpose escort vessels and were exported to Australia as the Adelaide class. There were six guided missile frigates constructed in Australia and the United States of America for service in the Royal Australian Navy modified for Australian requirements.
